Hello 2014!

So as the first day of 2014 comes to an end, I just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone! I've been looking back over the past year and even though I didn't set myself any goals last year, I think I accomplished quite a bit! 2013 was an important year as I started full-time work at the end of January 2013 (nearly been there a whole year) and as a result have had less time to focus on my blog and my business. I managed to go to quite a few blogger meet-ups (even went down to Brighton for a day), weddings and holidays during the year which I enjoyed! And I pretty much Instagrammed my way through the year again with plenty of henna and food photo's!

This year I want to blog more regularly, even if it is just twice a week. I'll be carrying on with my paintings and canvases as a micro-business. Also, I'll be applying (3rd time lucky) for my PGCE, which I hope to start in September. I think the experience from my current job will definitely support my application.

Other than that, I don't really have any New Years Resolutions.
I just want to be happy and healthy and enjoy life!

  1. Good luck girl, Insha'Allah I really hope you get the things you want and a mahoosive goodluck to applying for your PGCE! Quick question: Do you need a PGCE to have a support role/teaching assistant? And how much are your canvases?

    1. JazakAllah khair! And inshaAllah I hope this year will be the one! You don't need a PGCE to be support staff/TA, but experience in a school (or working with children) is required (even if it's just volunteering). =)

Canvases start from £5 for the mini one's on easels and then prices increase as the size of the canvas increase. Just depends how big the canvas is =)

    2. Oh I see, thanks it helps alot although Any courses (for me) require loads of previous experience! I have personal experience and volunteering with youths but, proffessional hasn't been done as I've never done Childcare/Health and Social care!

If your free could you email me the delivery charges and any other prices (I think this would be a perfect gift for my Mum! Not forgetting the living room too!)

  2. It depends on the school as they may even send you for training and other relevant courses once they employ you. I think you just need plenty of experience working with kids (and the A-C grades in GCSE if you're applying for primary school). =)

InshaAllah I'll email you in a bit with the canvas price list. I've got free UK delivery at the moment too =)

    1. Wa Alaikum Salaam! And jazakAllah khair! Yep, I much prefer celebrating what I have achieved whereas if I set goals, then I would be more disappointed if I did not reach them =)
