Urban Decay Purchases

A few weeks ago, I was window shopping (online) and found the Urban Decay Shattered Face Case on sale at Debenhams. It was in my November wishlist, and so I added it to my basket alongside the Triple Threat Pencil Set (you can never have too many eyeliners!).

The face case is just the right size for me to pack in my suitcase this Summer, which means I don't have to take any extra makeup other than foundation. It contains 5 eyeshadows, 2 blushers and a highlighter, as well as a Super Saturated lip gloss pencil and travel size 24/7 eyeliner pencil in Zero.

I seem to have a collection of travel size UD 24/7 eyeliner pencils and this trio of smokey shades just adds to it. They're all colours that I would wear regularly, and I know I'll get a lot of use from them.

Swatches of the pencils: Smoke (grey), Perversion (blackest black) and Sabbath (navy blue).

Products which I would love to own/wear/use. Alas such things only exist in my dreams.

I haven't done one of these posts in ages! My wish list at the moment consists of 3 makeup products.

in my dreams VI

First up, is the Urban Decay Shattered Face Case, which contains 5 eyeshadows, travel sized 24/7 eyeliner pencil, Super Saturated lip colour pencil, 2 blushers and a highlighter. Now, I'm going to be honest and say that I don't need any more eyeshadows (seriously, I don't), but this Urban Decay Palette would be a great way to try out a range of the products. It'll also be great for travelling when I don't really want to take a whole bunch of products with me.

The NARS Guy Bourdin Holiday Collection LE Promiscuous Lip Pencil Pouch is another one of the products on my wish list. It contains 4 Velvet Matte lip pencils and 1 Velvet Gloss lip pencil. Although I don't experiment much with lip colours, I think I'll make use of all the shades (and the pouch would be a perfect little makeup bag).

The final product is the NARS Fling Lip Gift Set. Another selection of NARS lip goodies inside the lip shaped box. Included in the box is a mini Velvet Matte lip pencil, a mini Velvet Satin lip pencil and two NARS lipsticks. Again, I'm not really looking to experiment with lip shades, but these all look wearable and perfect to try a range of NARS lip products.

The funny thing is that all these products are £30 each. So the question now is, which one do I go for?
(I can't justify spending £90 on all three, even though I would like to).

Any ideas? Which one would you choose?

Make up Travel Bag Take II

So, I did a post about products in my travel make up bag at the beginning of February, however the weather has changed completely since then and so has the make up (kind of) which I will be taking with me to another wedding. I've decided to wear the abaya that was featured in HFW Nov 2011-Day 5 and will be keeping my make up quite simple (hopefully).

Bare Minerals Original spf 15 foundation (medium tan) [sample size]
Concealer: Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection (Shade 4 Deep)
Blusher: Natural Collection Blushed Cheeks (Rosey Glow)
Lips: Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick (250 Glamourous Pink)
          NYX Lip pencil (Coffee)
          Sleek Pout Polish (Frosting)
Eyeshadow Primer: E.L.F Studio Eye Primer & Liner Sealer
Eyeshadow: Sleek Monaco Palette
                          Sleek Storm Palette
M&S Per Una Aubergine eye colour trio
Eyeliner: E.L.F Studio Gel Liner (Black)
                   Urban Decay 24/7 liner (Underground)
E.L.F Shimmer Eyeliner pencil (Plum Passion)
Mascara: No7 Extreme Length [sample size]
Brows: Sleek Brow Kit (Dark)

Extra's: E.L.F Studio Makeup Mist and Set Spray, E.L.F Eyelash Curler
Brushes: E.L.F Studio 11 piece brush kit and Studio Kabuki, No7 eye shadow brushes (from a brush set), Artist brush (used with gel eyeliner).

Hopefully I'll be able to take some pictures of my outfit and makeup. Also, we're going out to eat on the Saturday night, as the wedding is on the Sunday, so I'll have two OOTD's =)

Products which I would love to own/wear/use. Alas such things only exist in my dreams.
The Urban Decay 15-Year Anniversary 24/7 Glide-On Pencil set (£60).
15 24/7 glide-on eye pencils in a rainbow of colours, gorgeous packaging and the set includes a handy sharpener. Way out of my budget (in terms of makeup) but definitely worth it considering that if you bought all of the pencils individually, they would cost a total of £195. Doing the maths, each pencil in the set works out at £4, compared to the RRP of £13 if bought individually. Favourite shades are Perversion (carbon black), Midnight Cowboy (beige with gold sparkle) and Rockstar (deep purple/plum). =)

Anyone willing to go halves/thirds/quarters?

[note:currently retailing for £54 at Debenhams, which works out to £3.60 per pencil]

Urban Decay Naked Palette

A bit late I know, but I finally got myself the Urban Decay Naked palette last week, courtesy of SamRam's blog sale (check it out here). I was debating between the Naked palette and the Naked 2 palette, but after reading (and seeing swatches) that the original Naked palette was more suited towards warmer skin tones, I decided to hunt around to see if I could get one at a lower price (unfortunately I can't justify spending £35 on an eyeshadow palette). Coincidentally, later on in that same week Sam had a blog sale from which I purchased mine. I think it's a great palette and I'm looking forward to using it a lot =)

Favourite shades: Sin, Half Baked, Smog and Toasted =)

Isn't it pretty? Thank you very much Sam! =)
