Illamasqua Sale Haul

Clearly I've spent quite a bit over the past month and this coming month I'm on a (sorta) spending ban. I love Illamsqua products, even more so when they are on sale! I got these two blushers for a total of £15. That's less than the full price for one and with free delivery. Win!

I use my Illamasqua Betray cream blusher almost everyday so I picked up another one in the shade Seduce. It's a warm rose shade with a dewy finish. I also got my first Illamasqua powder blusher in the shade Hussy, which is a matt finish candy pink colour.

Illamasqua blushers are super pigmented so I use a light hand and then soften it a little more with Bare Minerals foundation or MAC Prep and Prime pressed powder (so it gives a flushed look).

Have you tried Illamasqua blushers before? Any other shades you'd recommend?

Sasa.com Haul

I ordered a few (too many) face masks from Sasa.com at the end of last year as they were offering free shipping for orders overs $40. Of course I took advantage of that, seeing as shipping from Singapore to the UK is pretty pricey! Unfortunately I also had to pay Customs charges when my parcel arrived in the UK (£4 for tax and £8 for handling!) =(

I've tried a few East Asian face masks thanks to Sam (Sam Ram Beauty Blog), but I still spent quite a long time searching through all the different types of masks to find ones that I wanted to try. And here's what I picked up!

The purple box on the right contains 7 sheet masks. I've tried this particular mask before and wanted to try it out over a period of time before writing a review. The one I'm most interested in trying is the Etude House Bulgarian Rose mask as it's a brightening mask. Just incase you're wondering, they are all sheet masks! They also aren't all for me (I will be sharing them with my sister too) =)

Have you tried any sheet masks before? Any that you would recommend?

You Beauty Discovery Box: January

This month's YBD box arrived last week and unfortunately, being back to work means that all blogging ends up being done over the weekend. As with all the previous boxes, I chose two products and received 2 other samples. This month I chose the Organic Pharmacy Mask (Enzyme Peel, 5ml) and the Kerasilk Ultra Rich Shampoo (50ml) and Daily Intense Mask (50ml). The two extra's in the box were Popchips (barbeque flavour) and a sample of Age Defy+ 24 Hour Brightening Serum.

This box isn't as great as previous boxes but I chose products that I know I will make use of, so it isn't a complete loss. I'm currently trying out a bunch of different face masks, so I'm definitely looking forward to using the Organic Pharmacy Enzyme Peel Mask.

Are you subbed to YBD boxes? What did you think of this months selection?

Candle Haul!

I know I wasn't supposed to do anymore sale shopping, but I was in need of some candles to burn. Busy Bee Candles (review here) had a 35% discount which I took advantage of, and then I found another website selling Lily Flame candles for under £7. Of course, I couldn't refuse a bargain so I stocked up on some lovely smelling candles which should hopefully last me a while.

Here's what I picked up!

Monkey Business Mini Me
Sweet Dreams Mini Me
Eastern Promise Mini Me
White Musk No Mess Wax Tart (x2)

Shearer Candle Amber Noir
Lily Flame Dolly Rocker
Lily Flame Fairy Dust
Lily Flame Silent Night

Do you have any favourite candles? What would you recommend?

Hello 2014!

So as the first day of 2014 comes to an end, I just wanted to say Happy New Year to everyone! I've been looking back over the past year and even though I didn't set myself any goals last year, I think I accomplished quite a bit! 2013 was an important year as I started full-time work at the end of January 2013 (nearly been there a whole year) and as a result have had less time to focus on my blog and my business. I managed to go to quite a few blogger meet-ups (even went down to Brighton for a day), weddings and holidays during the year which I enjoyed! And I pretty much Instagrammed my way through the year again with plenty of henna and food photo's!

This year I want to blog more regularly, even if it is just twice a week. I'll be carrying on with my paintings and canvases as a micro-business. Also, I'll be applying (3rd time lucky) for my PGCE, which I hope to start in September. I think the experience from my current job will definitely support my application.

Other than that, I don't really have any New Years Resolutions.
I just want to be happy and healthy and enjoy life!
