Project 10 Pan:Take II #8

Finally nearing the end of P10P:II and so far it's been going well (minus the buying products when I'm not supposed to!). The 8th product to have been used up is the E.L.F Studio Makeup Mist & Set spray, which is basically a setting spray that is sprayed (duh!) after you've applied your makeup. This product was a freebie which was part of an offer from E.L.F many months ago. The scent is not very appealing but fades quickly. At first, I was doubtful of whether it actually set my makeup and made it last longer, because I rarely keep my makeup on for more that 5-6 hours. However, I used this to set my makeup yesterday for my graduation ceremony, and I have to say that my makeup lasted pretty much all day (from around 10am to 8pm) with minimal touch ups despite the extremely hot weather! I picked up another one during the recent E.L.F 50% off offer as this is one product that is great for making your makeup last just that bit longer and for the mere price of £3.75, it's a bargain. Apparently this can also be used as a makeup refresher, but I have yet to try it to see if it 'refreshes' my makeup. =)

it's been used so much that the writing has rubbed off!

Have you tried the E.L.F Makeup Mist & Set spray? What did you think of it?

Hijabi Tip: Maxi Skirts

I don't tend to wear maxi skirts, as I'm pretty much wearing an abaya all the time, however for everyone who doesn't wear an abaya (or even those who do, and just want to mix up their outfits every now and again), maxi skirts are pretty much a staple piece in a hijabi's wardrobe. Although I don't wear them, I have to agree that they are modest (providing that they are not sheer!) and are extremely versatile as they can be worn dressed up or more casually. I would recommend going for a non-sheer maxi skirt, which is preferably made from a fabric that doesn't cling to the body (try to avoid ones made from jersey).

Here are a few maxi skirts that I've found which are currently being sold online (most of which are available in other colours) =)

Hijabi Tip:Maxi Skirts

For outfit inspiration featuring a maxi skirt, check out MangoWhirl, who has plenty of OOTD's as well as 3 ways to wear a black maxi skirt. Also see Aalia's (from hijabi with style) blog post for outift ideas when wearing a gypsy skirt, and the gorgeous outfit put together on the Hijablicious blog =)

Would you wear a maxi skirt? How would you style it?

Just a quick update!

If you've been following me on Twitter, you'll know that I've come down with a combination of cold/temperature/flu. Sadly, I think this is due to the lack of a Summer here is the UK as well as being quite busy over the past week (which isn't going to slow down any time soon).
Also, Ramadhan is due to start either Friday 20th or Saturday 21st July (depending on the sighting of the moon) and as I'll be starting a temporary job on Sunday 22nd, it'll be likely that I won't be updating my blog as often as I want to. I am excited that Ramadhan is here (the year has gone so fast!) and inshaAllah I'll be trying to make the most of the blessed month.

In regards to the giveaway, please do leave your email address in your comment! Also, readers who are re-tweeting, only one RT will be counted. There's only two more weeks left until the end of the giveaway so please do enter, if you haven't already (here) =)

E.L.F 50% code UK and Europe

So, I'm about to place my second E.L.F order in two days. Wondering why? It's because E.L.F currently have a code for 50% off everything on their site, with a minimum spend of £30 (before the discount is applied). I love E.L.F products as they're good quality and budget friendly. To really take advantage of the 50% offer, I'd recommend pretty much anything from the Studio line, especially the cream eyeliners, as well as the 11 piece Studio brush set (normal price £38.50, 50% off is £19.25), which works out to around £2 per brush - bargain! You have to be quick though, as the products are going out of stock (I really wanted to purchase the Studio powder brush, but it's not in stock at the moment).

EDIT: The offer has been extended until 16/7/2012 (9:30am GMT).

Will you be purchasing anything from ELF anytime soon? And what ELF products would you recommend?

July Accessories Haul

Most of the shops at Westfield Stratford City currently have a sale of some kind going on. I had originally planned to buy a bag from Zara on Sunday but didn't manage to find it in the store. I did however, pop into Forever 21 and H&M and pick up some accessories (not that I really need anymore!). I love stackable rings, and definitely prefer wearing them over statement rings as they can be mixed and matched with different rings as well as worn individually.

I also bought 2 sets of hair slides from H&M as there was an offer on, with some of the jewellery being buy one get one free. I picked up these two sets as I am loving the cute bows and the black rose designs. I wear these slides to secure my hijab in place on the side of my face (don't really want any sharp pins near my cheeks!).

Have you bought anything from the sales? Also, what do you think of haul posts?

June Beauty Products Haul

With P10P currently going on, I seem to be finishing (or nearing the end of) quite a few of the products I would consider essentials. The two main ones being the Lush Ultrabalm and Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I repurchased both of these over the past couple of weeks and also treated myself to a very belated post exam (and ready to graduate) present. The present being the Illamasqua cream blusher in the shade Betray. This is my first cream blusher, and Illamasqua was the brand recommended to me (and the shade was chosen by their very helpful staff at the store in Beak Street). Swatches of the blusher are to come in another blog post =)

Whilst in John Lewis, I got colour matched for the YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat foundation and recieved a 7 day sample to try out (in the shade B70, if anyone is wondering). I also got colour matched for the Nars Sheer Glow foundation (matched to Syracuse). The only question is which one do I go for? Or should I purchase something else, seeing as I'm quite happy with the foundations that I am currently using. The YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks seem to have caught my eye too, the shades 3 (Ultimate Beige) and 23 (Luscious Pink) in particular =)

Any suggestions or recommendations? Put them in the comments below =)

CLOSED: Giveaway: 100 GFC followers!

I can't believe that there are over 100 people who actually read my blog and follow the blog with GFC. When I first started out blogging, I was doing it because I'd plan all these little articles and mini reviews in my head (actually I still haven't stopped), and to think that there are 100 people (and everyone else who follows via facebook, twitter and bloglovin') who take time out to read my random thoughts is pretty amazing.

And to thank you all for reading, I've decided to do a little giveaway! I pinched this idea off another blog (the name of which escapes me at the moment*), but the giveaway prize will be a collection of surprise items for the winner (which I am continuously adding to). The items will be based on my personal favourites and stuff that I use regularly (why would I do a giveaway with something I haven't tried myself?). It's kind of like a Pandora's box giveaway (without releasing the evils of the world!) =)

Enter the giveaway by filling out the Rafflecopter form below and leave a comment in the comments box. It will end on the 31st July. This giveaway is open internationally and as always there are a few rules:
-You must follow the blog via GFC and answer the question 'what is your favourite beauty product?' in the comments box (2 entries)

Additional entries:
-Like the Chocoholic-Hijabi Facebook page (1 entry)
-Follow @asmaamangera on Twitter (1 entry)
-Tweet about the giveaway e.g. I have entered @asmaamangera 100 GFC follower giveaway (1 entry)

And that's pretty much it! Like to keep these giveaways short, sweet and simple =)
