Eid Mubarak to all my blog readers! I hope you all have a wonderful day and may it be filled with lots of love and blessings (and chocolate of course!) =)

Eid Mubarak!

Just a small giveaway to celebrate Eid! Even though my last giveaway only ended at the beginning of the month, I thought that Eid is a time for giving presents, so why not give a gift to blog reader!

The main prize is actually something that has come in very useful to me. It's a small book called Fortress of the Muslim, which is basically full of Invocations from the Quran and Sunnah. I find this a great book as it's pocketsized, which means you're able to learn something new on the go. The rest of the prize will contain surprise goodies (because we all love surprises!).

All you have to do is answer the question - What did you learn/gain from Ramadhan this year?

My own answer to this question would be that I gained an appreciation for everyone who was working during the month of Ramadhan. This is the first time that I've actually worked during Ramadhan, and combining 9-10 hour shifts with 16 hour fasts really did mean that I had to focus more on how to conserve my energy during the day, as most of the days I left for work at 5:30 am and returned at 6pm. Alhamdullilah, I found myself drinking a lot more water at suhoor and iftaar, and not drinking coffee in the morning, which I am hoping to continue after Ramadhan. InshaAllah next Ramadhan, I'll plan so that I am not working!

  3. this year are really don't mine. i have a big problems with someone who i trully love. i was betrayed by him. I have forgiven him but I can not forget. in ramadhan i much learn how to be sincerely, forgotten someone mistakes and always remember someone kindness, also reduce anger by pray and woke up in the middle of nights, to beg and pray to Allah SWT.
Believe Allah will not give the exam beyond the limits of his people,Allah has always had a wonderful plan for his people, Allah can forgive when his people always do taubatan Nasuha. surely Allah knows best

    Happy eid mubarak 1433 H

  5. Assalamu Alaikum Sister Asmaa!

    Eid Mubarak!

This Ramadan was an enlightening experience for me. I gained a realization of the hardships the poor and needy go through. I learned to appreciate what we have been blessed with by Allah the Almighty, I gained a sense of self-purification and self-reflection and a renewed focus on spirituality. I have realized there are so many things I can do to get closer to Allah! Also, I have learned to look around me, be grateful for what I have, be grateful for all the blessings Allah has bestowed upon us, and be grateful I am living in a place where I am free to practice my religion proudly. I have learned to be appreciative, since there are Muslim brothers and sisters on the other side of the world who do not even have food or homes. I pray for the Muslims in Burma, Syria, Palestine, Pakistan, and everywhere around the World!

This Ramadan I realized that the actions we do to please Allah should be done in the rest of the year too. I learned that I need to be more mindful of my responsibilities to Allah, not only during Ramadan but throughout the year. I learned how Ramadan shouldn't be wasted and that Allah is always there for us and Dua is truly the weapon of the believer. I feel Ramadan is a reminder to us, to mend our ways and make positive changes. Muslims do feel a change in their lifestyle when they fast. In Ramadan, Allah multiplies rewards and it is like he is literally handing them out! All we have to do is do what pleases him! I learned to seize this opportunity (It's like Heaven is on sale!) and to tuck aside all my worldly problems and materialistic needs for this month. I also learned more about my religion by going to halaqas and reading Islamic books. I hope to implement what I learned for the rest of my life. One thing I have started doing regularly is praying Tahajjud and spending long periods of time in Zhikr and Dua. I cry and pray to Allah to make things easy and to make me a better Muslimah. I also learned to forgive for the sake of Allah and not hold on to grudges.

And of course, I learned patience. I had rigorous college classes going on in Ramadan with a lot of workload and I would feel drained because of the lack of food, but I remembered Allah, had faith in him, and asked Him to make it easy for me. I put my trust in him, and Subhanallah the classes did not seem that hard after! I gained full trust in Allah, and that only He is the one who can truly help you in times of hardship. Along with my classes, I had to make time for my worship and Quran. So I learned time management too! And as they say, you learn from your experiences, so I learned to avoid increasing my workload in future Ramadans so I can focus more on my 'ibadaa InshAllah.

The majority of my friends own a copy of Fortress of the Muslim, but unfortunately, I have not been able to get my hands on a copy :( I was so happy to see your giveaway! If I win, this will be one thing I will always use and apply into my daily life! It will be one of my purse necessities! And Inshallah, I will make dua for you Sister and remember you in my prayers! And Yup! Everyone loves surprises! LOL! :D
