L'Occitane Christmas Advent Calendar

I don't celebrate Christmas but I do love trying out new products as well as stocking up on travel sizes. There really isn't a better way to do so than picking up a few of the holiday gift sets that are available at the moment. I've already opened up the L'Occitane festive bauble, but have decided to wait until December starts before I open the L'Occitane Christmas advent calendar. While the kids in my class will have a chocolate advent calendar to look forward to, I will be treating myself with a different L'Occitane product in the run up to the Christmas holidays.

Plus, I'm a big fan of L'Occitane products, so I know that I'll be using everything that is included in this calendar. L'Occitane Shea Butter Festive Bauble

A few days ago, I popped into L'Occitane to take a closer look at the beauty advent calendar. Instead, this is what caught my eye. At only £10, the L'Occitane Festive Baubles are great as small gifts or stocking fillers. There are a few different sets to choose from: Shea Butter, Verbena and Almond (exclusive to John Lewis).

I picked up the Shea Butter festive bauble, which contains:

Shea Butter Shower Cream 30ml

Shea Butter Ultra Rich Lotion 30ml

Shea Butter Hand Cream 10ml

Shea Extra-Gentle Milk Soap 25g 

The travel sizes makes this an ideal introduction to L'Occitane products, or in my case, perfect for a weekend away. The Christmas baubles are available online here and in store (currently on offer 3 for £25).

Blog-versary Giveaway Winner and Something New

As a little treat I decided to buy a blog-versary gift for myself (and of course take advantage of the sales that are on at the moment). I purchased the Nikon 1 J1 compact system camera (okay so it's not that little of a gift) in the twin lens kit from Jessops (link here). Hopefully I'll be able to improve my photography skills and this will then mean I can take better pictures for the blog. Also, it'll give me the chance to learn something new!

(by the way, that's a new pinboard in the background that I picked up from Boots. It was only £8 and  I couldn't resist!)

Eid Mubarak! [giveaway closed]

Eid Mubarak to all my blog readers! I hope you all have a wonderful day and may it be filled with lots of love and blessings (and chocolate of course!) =)

Just a small giveaway to celebrate Eid! Even though my last giveaway only ended at the beginning of the month, I thought that Eid is a time for giving presents, so why not give a gift to blog reader!

The main prize is actually something that has come in very useful to me. It's a small book called Fortress of the Muslim, which is basically full of Invocations from the Quran and Sunnah. I find this a great book as it's pocketsized, which means you're able to learn something new on the go. The rest of the prize will contain surprise goodies (because we all love surprises!).

All you have to do is answer the question - What did you learn/gain from Ramadhan this year?

My own answer to this question would be that I gained an appreciation for everyone who was working during the month of Ramadhan. This is the first time that I've actually worked during Ramadhan, and combining 9-10 hour shifts with 16 hour fasts really did mean that I had to focus more on how to conserve my energy during the day, as most of the days I left for work at 5:30 am and returned at 6pm. Alhamdullilah, I found myself drinking a lot more water at suhoor and iftaar, and not drinking coffee in the morning, which I am hoping to continue after Ramadhan. InshaAllah next Ramadhan, I'll plan so that I am not working!

A Personalised Gift

As you could probably tell from previous blog posts, I love all things artsy and creative, and most of my free time goes into crafting (or reading). This is part of a birthday gift for a friend. It's a miniature personalised canvas with her name (Fatima) in Arabic using acrylic paint. Brown background and gold writing with a few crystals to add some sparkle =)
