Style Hijabified: Olivia Palermo

This is what Olivia Palermo wore to a MANGO event back in 2010. Of course that doesn't mean that we can't adapt her style to suit the needs of a hijabi. This outfit looks classy and effortless, which I think is great for a formal environment.

To hijabify this look, I paired a cream chiffon tunic with wide leg beige trousers. The bow detailing on the tunic adds a cute feminine touch to the outfit and by adding a simple cardigan, there is a solution to covering the arms. Olivia seems to be wearing black heels in the image, so I've added this pair in the set, but brown shoes would also look equally as good. Accessorise with a simple gold cuff and a mini satchel bag, and to complete the look, am embellished square scarf also from a similar colour range.

Style Hijabified: Angelina Jolie

Wow! Haven't done a Style Hijabified post in quite a while =)

Anyway, this is what Angelina Jolie wore to the Madrid premiere for The Tourist. First of all I thought it was a simple black maxi dress, until the description stated that she was actually wearing trousers.

I love this look because it's so easy to replicate. I mean all you really need is a basic pair of wide leg black trousers and a black tunic top/dress. You could change the colours around to suit your own style and preferences. Unfortunately, a few of the items I used in the set seem to be unavailable on the websites, so improvise with your own wardrobe. Add a long white cardigan, a printed scarf and a smart pair of heels. Accessorise with patterned, wide bangles to add some sparkle. And there you have it, a simple look which can be dressed up or down depending on the occassion. I'd find this a perfect look for an interview, swapping the cardigan for a blazer or if I wanted to go a bit more casual, I'd wear a flat pair of shoes and maybe a long beaded/chain necklace =)

Style Hijabified: Rihanna

I love the maxi dress that Rihanna is wearing. It's a gorgeous silk maxi dress by Diane von Furstenberg with a retail value of about £600! A (much) cheaper alternative is the Miso chiffon maxi dress from Republic (which seems to have disappeared off the website). Any pale-ish coloured maxi dress will do, plain or patterned, depending on your preference =) A contrasting colour like teal makes a great statement piece and I've included this with the drape cardigan, which is an easy way to cover up the arms and shoulders. A leopard print scarf for a hijab, like this one from Dorothy Perkins adds another dimension with the funky pattern (there's nothing wrong with mixing up patterns and colours!). This is a look suited for the Summer time, when the sun is shining and it's a lot warmer so I'd add a pair of flat gladiator sandals and a few bangles to make the outfit complete.

Style Hijabified: Anne Hathaway

Today's style hijabified celebrity is Anne Hathaway. Her outfit is great, as it's so easy to replicate and adjust in order to suit the needs of a hijabi.

I love Anne Hathaway's layering of the long blue tunic and the pale yellow cardigan. It's an easy way to include different colours into an outfit and cover up at the same time. In the Polyvore set, I've used the Stud Tunic Dress  and the Mink Boyfriend Cardigan, both from Dorothy Perkins. A pair of Black Diesel Bootcut Jeans completes the clothing, however any pair of bootcut/flared jeans or trousers would be suitable. Studded ballet flats provide the footwear to the outfit and  they also match nicely with the stud detailing on the tunic. I've included a blue scarf which contains gold and black stripes to compliment the outfit nicely. Accesorise with this cute Bouquet Pin from Hannah Zakari, and a long gold necklace that can be seen when worn under the hijab.

So I found this photograph of Kate Bosworth in a wonderful Valentino Haute Couture dress, and decided to make a Polyvore set from it. Not all of us can afford Valentino, however the Asos Lace Kaftan Sleeve Maxi Dress makes a very suitable alternative. It can be worn over a long sleeve basic top to cover the arms and chest. Pair the dress with lace ballet flats and this chiffon silk hijab from AabUK, and all you need are some coordinating accessories. I love the clutch bag as it looks like it belongs at a red carpet event and it is the perfect neutral/nude colour. I personally prefer silver jewellery over gold, and a statement ring or bracelet would really add a bit of glamour to the outfit.
